Brazilian gymnasts Flavia Saraiva and Rebeca Andrade, two of the biggest prospects for the upcoming Olympic cycle leading up to Tokyo 2020, have been called up by the Brazilian Gymnastics Confederation (CBG) to participate in the Trofeo Citta di Jesolo, an international gymnastics event in Italy. The call kicks off the Confederation's competition planning for 2017.

The competition, which will take place on April 1st and 2nd, will feature representatives from the United States, Russia, France, Canada, Belgium, Brazil, and Italy. This is the tenth edition of the event, which is already part of the Brazilian Confederation's cycle for the next Olympic Games.

The Flamengo Regatas Club's artistic gymnastics teams receive funding from their sponsors—AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, and EY—via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), as well as support from the Brazilian Club Committee (CBC) through the decentralization of resources from the Pelé Law. The Flamengo Guardian Angel Project, a personal tax transfer, benefits all Olympic sports of the Most Beloved Club.
