This Saturday (25), the Cláudio Coutinho gymnasium in Gávea hosted the Copa FLA, the closing tournament of artistic gymnastics at the Sempre Flamengo Sports School. Athletes from Mais Querido and invited clubs, aged between 2 and 15, performed at the tournament. The packed stands were mainly attended by parents and family members of the young people. Athletes from Flamengo's gymnastics teams also attended the event and performed throughout the day. Jade Barbosa, an Olympic finalist, posed for photos with fans, chatted with the gymnasts, and sent messages of support to all participants.

"I'm so happy to see that we've reached this level, to have so many participants in such a good, well-structured gym. This is so important for kids just starting out," says the athlete. "It's a special day, we have to enjoy it; we train for these moments."
The FLA Cup is supported by the Rio de Janeiro Gymnastics Federation and has already become part of the annual calendar for the state's gymnastics schools. The event is a great gathering for parents, athletes, and coaches. Luisa Parente, Flamengo's land sports manager, comments on her satisfaction at hosting another edition of the event.
"The World Cup is the pinnacle of joy for the initiation of gymnastics here at the club. We count on the participation of our students in large numbers, but also of external guests, of people who honor us. It's a joy for both the students and the teachers who organize the Sempre Flamengo Sports School," says the former Olympic athlete.
The competition had no individual awards and all gymnasts received medals and gifts from Rubro-Negro.
