A symbol of dedication, excellence, and commitment to the development of Brazilian sport, Georgette Vidor begins a new stage in her highly successful career. After more than three decades of direct involvement in gyms, the coordinator of Flamengo's artistic gymnastics program will leave the daily routine of training and the gyms. The demanding daily routine will be replaced by a consultant's perspective.

Georgette began her journey with Flamengo in 1980 as an artistic gymnastics coach, building a career that established her as one of the key figures responsible for the sport's success in the country. Her work was crucial in the development of Olympic athletes and in building the winning identity of Flamengo's artistic gymnastics program, making her a central figure in the club's Olympic history. Now, the coach will be collaborating with the club on a strategic consulting role.

For over 30 years, she dedicated herself to Flamengo, marked by countless hours of work in the gyms, planning, technical supervision, and a commitment to excellence. At the ceremony commemorating the club's 130th anniversary, Georgette received the award given to Olympic coaches in recognition of her historic contribution.

The decision to reduce the intensity of her daily routine in the gym is related to the pursuit of a better quality of life, also considering the frequent commutes, since Georgette lives in the mountainous region. She will continue to dedicate herself to discovering new talents in Brazilian artistic gymnastics.

“When I look back, I am very proud of the work I have done at Flamengo and in artistic gymnastics to this day. There were countless hours inside the gyms, training after training, with a lot of dedication. I am 67 years old and I understand that I can continue contributing to gymnastics, but with a better quality of life and in a more strategic way,” says Georgette.

Georgette Vidor will remain a lasting reference for Flamengo and for Brazilian sport. Her story is intertwined with the very trajectory of excellence in Flamengo's artistic gymnastics, built with hard work, knowledge, and a commitment to sports development.
