Gymnasts compete in the Brazilian Absolute Championship
The red-and-black team competes in Aracaju in the main club tournament of the season

This Thursday (31.07), Flamengo's artistic gymnastics team takes part in the Brazilian Adult Championship, at the Constâncio Vieira Sports Gymnasium, in Aracaju (SE), with free entry. The competition continues until August 03. The athletes began free training on Tuesday (29.07) and did podium training on Wednesday afternoon (30.07).
Jade Barbosa, who recently confirmed her return to Mais Querido, is eager to represent the Red and Black. "I really wanted to go to the Brazilian Championship wearing Flamengo's uniform, as a member of the club. It's great to be back and be home. Ricardo (Pereira, coach) and I are very motivated to train together again. We've prepared a new series for the Brazilian Championship and we're very excited. It's been a long time since I've been so well prepared for a competition," she said.
The red-and-black team is composed, in addition to Jade, of Letícia Costa, Isabelle Cruz, Maria Cecília, Rebeca Andrade, Milena Theodoro, Thauany Araújo, and Julie Kim. Coaches Keli Kitaura, Francisco Porath Neto, and Ricardo Pereira accompany the girls, as well as delegation leader Luisa Parente.
On the afternoon of last Wednesday (July 30.07), the opening ceremony of the tournament was also held, with the presence of the 13 participating teams. The girls, who are among the 12 best teams in the world, are preparing for the Pan American Championship, in August, and for the World Cup in Turkey, in September.
