Mengão's gymnastics team went to Paris and showed the French that they are among the best in the world. 

The first medal went to Olympic and world champion Rebeca Andrade. She won the silver medal on the uneven bars with a score of 14.600, trailing only the Frenchwoman, the home team. The Brazilian performed a highly difficult series (D 6.4) and debuted her exit from the apparatus with a double jump and double pirouette. Flávia Saraiva also performed and placed sixth. 

"I'm very happy to be competing again. This is very important for us. Each competition is preparation. I'm very proud; not everything is about the medal. I managed to overcome my challenges; I was fighting with myself to make this new start. When did I imagine I would make it this far? It's great to feel my body in every movement; it was great to be able to do it. I hope I can do it in other competitions," she said, smiling. 

Next, it was our "little giant," Flavia Saraiva's, turn to showcase her talent and charm on the balance beam, an apparatus she specializes in. A beautiful performance earned her the bronze medal with a score of 13.450, just 0,050 shy of gold. 

And to close out Sunday, Jade Barbosa dazzled on the floor. At 32 years old, in peak form, the red-and-black gymnast delivered an impressive routine, featuring powerful acrobatics, earning her the silver medal with a 13.400. Flavia Saraiva finished fourth in this event. 

Among the men, Diogo Soares also competed in the pommel horse final and finished in sixth place with 13.900

Now, the team heads to Europe for the main competition of the season: the World Championship, which begins on September 30th in Antwerp, Belgium.
