Next weekend, the young talents of the red-and-black gymnastics team will participate in the Caixa Brazilian Youth Artistic Gymnastics Championship, in Belo Horizonte. On Saturday (10), from 9:30 am to 19 pm, there will be team events. On Sunday (11), from 9:30 am to 12:10 pm, there will be individual competitions. Before the competition, the athletes will do podium training on Friday (9), from 8 am to 16:50 pm.

Luisa Parente, Flamengo's sports manager, spoke about the event and the expectations for the tournament."We now have a full women's team and hope to reposition Flamengo's women's gymnastics among the top five in Brazil, even among the top three. The team is good, with gymnasts who were on last year's Brazilian National Team and have already been called up this year (Caroline Dias and Beatriz dos Santos, respectively). They are gymnasts from the next generation, from 2020, so the expectations are good for the women's team. The men's team has been without representation in this youth category for almost 15 years. And it will also be a milestone to be able to revive the history of Flamengo's men's artistic gymnastics. We have high expectations of putting on good performances and shining among the best," said Luisa.

The event for male and female gymnasts will feature the participation of around 80 athletes from 19 clubs, representing the states of Minas Gerais, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul and São Paulo, in addition to the Federal District.
