Red-and-black gymnasts participate in training camp with the Brazilian National Team
In total, five Mais Querido athletes were called up for a period of activities with the rest of the team.
By Romulo Paranhos - inIn 2019, the red-and-black gymnasts will have a season full of important competitions ahead of them, both for Flamengo and the Brazilian National Team. In total, five athletes from Mais Querido participated in the training camp and remained together until last Thursday (17) at CT Time Brasil, in the Olympic Park of Barra da Tijuca (RJ).
Jade Barbosa, Flávia Saraiva, Rebeca Andrade, Lorrane Oliveira, and Beatriz Simão were the red-and-black players who participated in this preparation period. At the camp, the athletes underwent medical evaluations and trained with the entire group, improving their physical and technical skills in preparation for the first competitions of the year.
Among the athletes invited for this evaluation period, some gymnasts from the Youth and Children's categories were also called, such as Beatriz Simão, who is part of Flamengo's youth team. The goal is to continue the work of discovering new talent for the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
For the Brazilian team, the main competitions that the red-blacks will compete in are the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, and the World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany, which will determine places for Tokyo 2020.
The artistic gymnastics teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Committee of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
