The Time Brasil Training Center, at Arena da Barra, in Rio de Janeiro, will host a course held by the Brazilian Olympic Committee, through the Brazilian Olympic Institute, until next Friday (13). The red-blacks Flávia Saraiva, Jade Barbosa, Lorrane Oliveira, Luisa Kirchmayer and Rebeca Andrade, in addition to coach Renata Valente, will participate in the High Performance Sports Course (CEAR) – Sporting Excellence: Sports Excellence Program for High Performance Coaches of Women's Artistic Gymnastics. This is the second module for the program's first group of students. In April, Renata represented Flamengo among the coaches and athletes, selected by the Brazilian Olympic Committee, who are currently on the Brazilian National Team or have a chance of being called up and winning medals in major competitions.
The second phase of the course will focus on the "theory and practice of women's artistic gymnastics apparatus." The event will feature lectures by internationally renowned professionals, such as Valeri Liukin, a Kazakh-American Olympic champion athlete and coach.
The artistic gymnastics teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Committee of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
