Brazilian gymnasts complete training camp with the Brazilian National Team in the USA
Athletes from Mais Querido remain in the city of Dallas until February 10th
By Romulo Paranhos - inTo intensify their preparations for the 2019 season, the youth and adult athletes of the Brazilian Women's Artistic Gymnastics Team are completing a training camp in Dallas, United States. Flávia Saraiva, Jade Barbosa, Lorrane Oliveira, and Rebeca Andrade are the Mais Querido athletes who are part of the Brazilian adult team.
The goal of the internship is to help the gymnasts regain their training rhythm and the volume of sets they are used to performing. Eleven athletes are completing a preparation program for the competitions that will be held throughout the year.
Ângelo Sabino, coach of the red-and-black gymnastics teams, spoke about the importance of this international internship.
"I consider this training camp to be crucial for our girls, as it's their first overseas activity of the year. This change of environment is very beneficial for training, as it not only provides the athletes with a different motivation but also helps further improve their performance, boosting their performance throughout the season," the coach stated.
The red-and-black gymnasts have confirmed their presence in the first major challenge of the year for the Brazilian National Team, the DTB Challenge, in Stuttgart, Germany, between March 15th and 17th. In the second half of the year, the girls from Gávea will compete in the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, which will be held from July 27th to August 5th.
The artistic gymnastics teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – AmBev, Rede D'or, and Estácio – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Committee of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
