Red-and-black gymnasts continue preparations for the Brazilian Specialist Championships
The main competition of the semester takes place between June 5th and 9th at Arena Carioca 3

The red-and-black artistic gymnastics team is focused on preparing for the Brazilian Specialist Championships. The competition, which will take place from June 5th to 9th at Arena Carioca 3 in the Barra da Tijuca Olympic Park, Rio de Janeiro, is the main event for national gymnastics in the first half of the year.
Last October, competing in the same competition, Flamengo won five medals. Isabelle Retamiro on vault, Jade Barbosa on parallel bars, and Flávia Saraiva on balance beam secured the gold medal for the Mais Querido. The two silver medals came from Jade and Flavinha, on balance beam and floor exercise, respectively.
Ângelo Sabino, the red-and-black coach, commented on the athletes' preparation for the competition.
"There are five weeks left until our championship debut, and we're training hard to ensure our athletes can perform at their best. The exciting thing is that this year the competition will be here in Rio, which means our visibility will be even greater, as our fans and families will be able to come and support us. The Brazilian Specialist Championship is one of the four target competitions of the season, so we're going full steam ahead to win many medals for Flamengo," the coach emphasized.
Eight female gymnasts will represent the Red-Black team in the championship: Flávia Saraiva, Jade Barbosa, Lorrane Dos Santos, Rebeca Andrade, Isabelle Cristina, Maria Cecília, Lorenna Rocha, and Vitória Silva. In the men's competition, Lucas Mosquito and Josué Heliodoro will compete for medals for the Most Beloved.
The artistic gymnastics teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Committee of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
