Last weekend was special for Flamengo's youth artistic gymnastics team, with a strong performance at the Brazilian Youth Championships in Belo Horizonte at the Minas Tênis Clube Arena. Flamengo competed with both the men's and women's teams and performed well on Minas Gerais soil.
The girls placed third in the team event, with Karoline placing fifth in the all-around and third in the floor event. The boys placed seventh in the team event—after 12 years without participating in this category—with Iago placing fourth in the floor event.
In addition to coaches Rhayane de Araújo and Roberto Nassar, the teams were supported by physiotherapist Reinaldo Moura Jr., from the CUIDAR team, managed by Izabel Miranda.
The gymnastics teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo have support from the Brazilian Club Confederation (CBC) from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law and with resources from its sponsor – MRS Logística – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sport (IR).
