Last Saturday (30), the Rubro-Negro Artistic Gymnastics Festival shook the Mais Querido headquarters in Gávea. At the Claudio Coutinho gym, students and parents from the Sempre Flamengo Sports School gathered for a morning of presentations by the little ones. The event is part of the School's calendar and takes place annually in the first semester.

At the Festival, children take turns competing on four apparatuses: floor, balance beam, uneven bars, and vault. Students perform according to their skill level (Baby, Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4), and the level of difficulty increases with age. All students who participate in the Festival receive medals and prizes.

Athletes from the red-and-black competitive teams always attend the event. In 2018, the Festival featured performances by Ellen Vitória, the Brazilian Junior Team Runner-up, and Eloah, Maria Luiza, Maria Eduarda, Larissa, Fernanda, Bruna, and Isabel. The men's competition included Iago Cruz, a rings specialist who won bronze in vault at the Brazilian Junior Championships; Cauã Rocha, the Junior State Team Champion; and Josué Heliodoro, the Junior State All-Around Champion and Brazilian Vault Champion.

"The students are thrilled to see their role models performing highly challenging exercises. These performances motivate our students to push their limits," commented Diogo Brito, coordinator of the Sempre Flamengo Sports School.

Coaches Daniela Antunes, Marcos Wilson and Jonathan Moraes were also present and participated in the event.

The artistic gymnastics teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Committee of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
