Flamengo's gymnastics team holds its first training session at Gávea in 2026.
Activities resume with the reopening of the gymnasium and the presence of athletes from different generations.

The artistic gymnastics training sessions at Flamengo are back in Gávea. On Monday morning (23), the athletes resumed their routine at Mengão's headquarters, marking the reopening of the Cláudio Coutinho Gymnasium in a symbolic meeting of generations. Rebeca Andrade, Flavia Saraiva, Lorrane Oliveira and Jade Barbosa shared the space with Daniele and Diego Hypolito, references who helped build this trajectory, alongside the young athletes who today are inspired by these names to follow the same path.
"It's great to be back, to see the gym full and with our new photos. This is my second home. Being with the girls and seeing the youth academy makes me very happy. I remember the beginning and that feeling of arriving at the biggest club in the country, which I am now a part of. It's an immense pride to know that I'm part of Flamengo's history," Rebeca celebrated.
Flavinha also highlighted the importance of returning. "Being at Flamengo is like being at home. I feel very good representing the Nation, I'm very happy with the renovated gym and I feel very privileged to know that the children who are here are inspired by me. I was once the child who wanted to be Jade Barbosa and Dany, so it's a great honor."
A potential future gymnast was also present: newborn Eva, Jade's daughter. The return to the gym moved the athlete, who reminisced about her first steps in the sport.
“Coming here today took me back to my first day at Flamengo. I was shorter than the fence. I saw everyone training and told my mother that this was what I wanted. Twenty-nine years have passed representing the club and accumulating stories. It's all very intense. I get emotional because it's beautiful to arrive and see so many girls pursuing the same dreams I once had. And, of course, having my daughter wearing the Flamengo jersey makes everything even more special,” she said.
Also present were idols Diego Hypolito, Dany Hypolito, and Luisa Parente. Role models for another generation of gymnasts, the trio closely followed the activities and interacted with all the athletes.
“I spent almost 20 years at Flamengo. I was a two-time world champion, achieved my best results, and developed as an athlete. Being here is nostalgic, and seeing the gym like this is wonderful. I would never be who I am if I hadn't been part of this club. It has always been the best gymnastics club in Brazil, so it's an unparalleled feeling,” said Diego, gratefully.
