Gymnast Jade Barbosa, a leading figure in the sport in Brazil, participated in Flamengo's youth team training last week. The Flamengo fan spoke with the younger athletes, offering tips and sharing some of her experience with the country's promising artistic gymnasts."It was wonderful. Jade is recovering from knee surgery, and we're currently participating in a Brazilian National Team camp. So, she's training at a special time because she's still recovering. Last Saturday, she came to train the part she can do and stayed with the youth teams until the end, helping the athletes perform the exercises and sharing experiences with the younger ones. This Saturday, Jade will participate in training again with the younger gymnasts, which has been very productive for them," said Georgette Vidor, technical coordinator of the Brazilian artistic gymnastics team.
The Brazilian National Team's training camp began on February 27 and will continue until March 14. In total, 29 athletes (14 women and 15 men) are gathered at CT Time Brasil, with the aim of improving the teams' preparation for the competitions that are scheduled throughout the season, with the main focus being the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Flávia Saraiva, Lorrane dos Santos and Rebeca Andrade are the Mais Querido representatives at the meeting.
The artistic gymnastics teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Committee of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
