From Rubro-Negra to Rubro-Negra. Jade Barbosa, who competed in the Individual All-Around final in the early hours of this Friday, finished in 10th place, surpassing Daniele Hypólito's record at the Athens Olympics (2004), when she finished in 12th place, the best ever achieved by Brazilian artistic gymnastics.

Jade seemed to be having her best day. However, on the two apparatuses where she performs best (floor and vault), the Brazilian suffered falls that negatively affected her final score.

Jade's first challenge was on the uneven parallel bars. With a confident and precise performance, the gymnast earned a score of 15.075. Next came the balance beam, where she also performed very well, with perfect, accurate entry and exit. Despite the slight imbalances, the athlete left satisfied, as did the Brazilian coaching staff. Score of 15.500

From the beam to the floor. Early on, Jade suffered a fall that ended up compromising the rest of her beautiful performance to the sound of the berimbau.

A specialist in vaulting, the Brazilian who wowed the world during the Rio 2007 Pan American Games didn't perform well on her best apparatus. Jade ended up falling on the landing and received a score of 15.025.

With the sum of all the apparatus, Jade Barbosa finished in 10th place, with 59.550 points. Now, the red-black is preparing for the vault final, this Sunday (17/8), at 07:43 am.
