Red-and-black athletes win two of the Brazilian team's five medals in the last competition before the World Cup

Last weekend, another stage of the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup took place in Osijek, Croatia. The Brazilian National Team included two athletes for the women's team: both from the red-and-black team. Both athletes reached the podium, and with the result of this stage, the final one, Brazil finished first in the medal table. The final placing was also due to medals won by other red-and-blacks: Rebeca Andrade (bronze in Slovenia and silver in São Paulo) and Julie Kim (bronze in Slovenia).
The red-and-black gymnast Thauany Araújo, just 16 years old, secured bronze on the uneven bars at Gradski Hall, this Saturday (19.09), in her debut in the World Cup stages, in an unprecedented competition system for the athlete.
On Sunday (20.09), Jade Barbosa, leader on the balance beam in the qualifying stage, confirmed her favoritism and won gold, with 14,225. In this event, Thauany, finalist on both apparatuses she competed in, took eighth place, with 12,375.
The Brazilian delegation, with the two red-and-black medalists, arrives in Rio de Janeiro in the early hours of Tuesday (22.09). The Artistic Gymnastics World Championships will be in Glasgow, Scotland, from October 24 to November 2.
