Rubro-Negro's Josué Heliodoro completed his first appearance on the Brazilian artistic gymnastics team. At the Junior Team Cup in Germany, the gymnast was the second-best athlete on the national team, which placed 5th out of 38 teams. In the 17-18 age category, which featured 76 athletes of various nationalities, Josué, at 16, finished 25th.

"He was second best, losing only to the medalist at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games. This was our main objective at the event; we sought to further solidify his place on the team that will compete in the World Youth Championship," said Roberto Nassar, Josué's coach at Flamengo and the Brazilian National Team.

The Junior Team Cup is considered by the Brazilian Gymnastics Confederation as a luxury preparation for the World Championships in the category, which takes place between June 27th and 30th in Gyor, Hungary.

The artistic gymnastics teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Committee of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
