Gymnast Diego Hypolito won his fourth gold medal of the year this Saturday (May 30th). In the floor exercise final of the World Cup stage held in Moscow, Russia, the Brazilian took first place with a score of 5 points. Russian Anton Golotsutskov took silver with 15,650.
"My routine was very well executed, with a starting score of 16,60. I did the "Hypolito 1" on my first pass, and I'm very pleased with my performance, which kept me at the top of the world rankings on this apparatus. Now thinking about the World Championships in London, I intend to make my final pass more difficult to increase my starting score, which would have been 16,70," said Diego.
In the vault final, Diego failed to make it onto the podium and finished the event in eighth place, with 15,287.
- I did a second, more difficult vault and had a mistake that took me out of the competition - said the gymnast, who already won two medals in vault (one gold and one silver) in 2009.
Diego's medals in the 2009 season:
March 2009 (Cottbus-Germany) – Silver on floor and silver on vault\ April 2009 (Maribor-Slovenia) - Gold on floor\ May 2009 (Glasgow-Scotland) – Gold on floor and gold on vault\ May 2009 (Moscow-Russia) – Gold on floor\
