Gymnast Maria Julia Marques shone at the South American Youth Artistic Gymnastics Championships. Held in Mar del Plata, Argentina, the competition featured the continent's top teams, and the red-and-black team was named Most Beloved of the tournament.
Representing the Brazilian national team, Maria Julia won the team championship, earning a total of 155,700 points. Completing her excellent performance, the red-and-black athlete also placed sixth in the individual all-around.
Brazilian athletes reached the podium 39 times, reinforcing the great potential of the gymnasts in the category, and the Mais Querido gymnast has already reintegrated and resumed training at the Claudio Coutinho gym for the remaining competitions of the season.
