The red-blacks in the Brazilian Artistic Gymnastics Team were highlights at the Pan-American Championship in Bolivia, at the Coliseu Max Toledo Sports Complex, in Sucre, which ended this Sunday (18).
In the adult category, with events only on apparatus, Milena Theodoro won gold on the balance beam (13,600) and floor (13,275), while Letícia Costa won silver on vault (13,813). In addition to the two gymnasts, Julie Kim also represented the club on the National Team.
For the red-and-black coach Keli Kitaura, head of delegation and one of the coaches of the women's national team, the result was satisfactory. "They had a positive performance. Letícia won a medal in vault, and Milena, after recovering from an injury, showed confidence and secured two gold medals today," she stated.
The gymnastics teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo have support from the Brazilian Club Confederation (CBC) from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law and with resources from its sponsor – MRS Logística – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sport (IR).
