Following in the footsteps and movements of the greatest idol of Flamengo artistic gymnastics, the new and future generation of Flamengo gymnasts competed in the Brazilian Pre-Children's Championship, in the city of Santos (São Paulo), last weekend, and was an absolute highlight.

Under the guidance of coaches Pietro Leddomado and Roberto Nassar, the Flamengo men's team won the Brazilian championship in this category, a feat not achieved in over 20 years. Gymnasts Aladin de Oliveira Macedo, Lucas Eduardo Costa e Souza, Iago Retamiro, and Lucas Moreira da Silva Ferreira lived up to expectations and shone on the top step of the podium.

\

The competition featured the participation of nine male teams (a record in the last 15 years) and more than 40 gymnasts in the age group of 9 and 10 years old.

Considered a potential successor to Diego Hypolito, the young Aladin performed exceptionally well, winning the individual all-around title. His teammates didn't disappoint, delivering excellent results for Gávea. Lucas Moreira finished 5th, followed by Lucas Eduardo and Iago Retamiro (6th and 7th, respectively).

"The most important thing is that these gymnasts had never participated in a Brazilian championship in their lives and performed flawlessly, showing that our work is on the right track to produce new world champions, as is customary at Flamengo," Roberto Nassar emphasized.
