Red-and-black gymnastics promise will represent Brazil at the Pan American Games

A Flamengo player since 2012, São Paulo native Julie Kim Sinmon will once again join the Brazilian Artistic Gymnastics Team, this time at the Toronto Pan American Games. At just 17 years old, the Flamengo player won a string of medals last season and has everything it takes to perform well in the competition.
Last year, Julie Kim placed third in the all-around at the South American Games, as well as third in the pre-Pan Am Games on balance beam. Earlier this year, the young red-and-black athlete won bronze on balance beam at her first World Cup in Slovenia.
Julie Kim flew to Toronto last Friday. She's competing in the Pan American Games for the first time, thanks to the Anjo da Guarda Rubro-Negro (Red-Black Guardian Angel). The project allows fans to contribute to Flamengo's Olympic sports and participate in athlete development.
