Gymnasts Milena Theodoro, Julie Kim Sinmon, and Letícia Costa, along with coach Francisco Porath, will be in Curitiba from September 15th to 23rd, representing Flamengo in the Brazilian National Team's training camp. The event brings together the country's top girls of age for the 2016 Olympic Games.
"This activity is excellent for them, as they can see their opponents from other clubs and see what level they're at. Furthermore, they train hard, gain experience, give more of themselves due to the rivalry with their teammates, and learn from Alexander Alexandrov, the Russian who is the head coach of the Brazilian National Team," said Keli Kitaura, gymnastics coach at Mais Querido.
The training in Curitiba also serves as preparation for the upcoming challenges the red-and-blacks will face. On September 30th, Letícia Costa begins competing in the World Championships, which will be held in Belgium. Julie Kim Sinmon and Milena Theodoro will compete in the Gymnasiade in November in the Federal District.
