Rebeca Andrade wins the silver medal in the all-around at the Antwerp World Championships
Rubro-negra is the biggest Brazilian record holder in world championships with six medals

With each passing day, the red-and-black Rebeca Andrade places herself even further in the history of Brazilian Olympic sport. This Friday (6), the gymnast wrote a new chapter in her brilliant trajectory in the sport, winning her sixth medal in the world championships.

After winning the silver medal in the team event last Wednesday, she returned to the gym in Antwerp, Belgium, and took silver in the individual all-around at the World Championships in the sport, scoring 56.766 points on all four apparatuses. Rebeca was defending the world title she won in Liverpool in 2022.
The Brazilian finished second only to American Simone Biles, who took gold with 58.399 points. The bronze medal went to Shilese Jones, also of the United States. This was the first time in the history of the World Championships that three Black women made it onto the podium in the individual all-around. Flávia Saraiva also competed, but finished 15th, with falls on the uneven bars and floor exercise.
In the first rotation, Rebeca started on vault and scored 14.700, having received a penalty for landing with her foot outside the landing line. In the qualifying round, she had scored 0.200 higher than in the final. On the uneven bars, one of her most challenging apparatuses, the Brazilian improved her score. After scoring 13.866 in the qualifying round, she scored 14.500 in the final—which dropped her to second place.
On the balance beam, Rebeca struggled a bit and scored 13.500, 0.300 less than in the previous round. To close out the floor exercise, she performed Beyoncé, Anitta, and Baile de Favela. The Flamengo gymnast scored 14.066 after receiving a 0.300 penalty for stepping off the platform during her final acrobatic move.
This Saturday, at 9 a.m. (Brasília time), Rebeca will be in the vault final, the apparatus on which she is the reigning Olympic champion. On Sunday, also at 9 a.m., Rebeca will be in the balance beam and floor finals. Flavinha is in the floor final.
