Rebeca Andrade wins three gold medals at the Junior Pan American Games

Young red-and-black gymnast also won three silver medals

Last weekend, from March 28th to 30th, the Pan American Youth Artistic Gymnastics Championships were held at the Constâncio Vieira Sports Center in Aracaju, Sergipe. Of the five athletes in the Brazilian delegation, four were from Flamengo: Rebeca Andrade, Lorenna Antunes, Milena Theodoro, and Thauany Araujo. Rebeca was the standout, winning six medals: three gold and three silver.

On vault, Rebeca scored 15.375 points and won gold. The young athlete also won on parallel bars, with 13.800, and on balance beam, with 13.900. She also won silver on floor exercise. With her excellent performance, Rebeca won silver in the individual all-around, with 55,833 points, and, along with her teammates, earned another silver medal for Brazil in the overall team ranking.

The competition brought together the Americas' top young talents in the sport and is one of the main preparatory competitions of the Olympic cycle. The Pan American Games also serve as a qualifying stage for the Youth Olympic Games in August in China.
