Flamengo once again demonstrated its strength on the stage. This past weekend (May 13th and 14.05th), Flávia Saraiva and Rebeca Andrade honored the colors of the "Mais Querido" (Flamengo) while representing Brazil in Slovenia, in another stage of the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup. The red-and-blacks, who are with the Brazilian national team until the end of May, demonstrated their strength and finished the event with a medal. Rebeca took home a gold medal and Flávia a bronze.
Rebeca's gold medal came on the first day of finals, last Saturday (May 13.05). The gymnast, who qualified for the vault final in first place, confirmed her favoritism and, with an average of 14.600, finished the day on the top step of the podium. Also on Saturday, it was Flavia's turn to show her potential. The red-and-black, who qualified for three finals, took bronze in the unevenness, with a score of 13.450.
The team's next commitment is in Croatia, between May 18th and 21st, where Brazil will participate in another stage of the World Cup.
The Flamengo Regatas Club's artistic gymnastics teams receive funding from their sponsors—AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, and EY—via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), as well as support from the Brazilian Club Committee (CBC) through the decentralization of resources from the Pelé Law. The Flamengo Guardian Angel Project, a personal tax transfer, benefits all Olympic sports of the Most Beloved Club.
