Flamengo has gained an important addition to its artistic gymnastics squad. This week, Renata Valente was officially introduced as Flamengo's coach and will be part of the Mais Querido youth and adult teams. 

"My expectations are the best possible. Flamengo has been restructuring with new coaches since the beginning of the year. We intend to always do our best to continue taking the club to the top, keeping the "Mais Querido" (Most Beloved) as a reference in Brazil. We also want Flamengo to continue sending many athletes to the Brazilian National Team," celebrated Renata.

"We have a very strong senior team, so expectations are high. We have Jade, Rebeca, and Flávia, who are Olympic athletes, as well as the younger girls who will also be competing for good positions. The junior athletes have been through a transition period and are also looking for great results," concluded the new coach.

The coach, who participated in the Brazilian Olympic Committee's (COB) Brazilian Coaching Academy, also spoke about the feeling of wearing the Sacred Mantle. "Working at Flamengo has always been a dream of mine since I started gymnastics at age eleven. This club, for me, is like a temple of sport. My inspiration has always come from here. It's a very important place, and being part of this team is an honor. It motivates me to work harder and always help," said Renata Valente.

 Always seeking inspiration from the coaching world, Renata spoke about her inspirations in the sport. "I always look up to other coaches, like Ricardo Pereira, who was at Flamengo for many years and was the face of Brazilian gymnastics. I'm also a fan of the Americans," she explained.

Renata now joins the group that is intensely preparing for the Brazilian Adult Championship, held in São Paulo. The competition will begin in August and will feature team and individual competitions. Flamengo's artistic gymnastics team is also preparing for other important challenges this season.
