Jade's return marks a new stage of restructuring
The gymnast will compete in the Brazilian Championship on the 31st as a Flamengo athlete. His return is another step in strengthening Flamengo's Olympic sports.

Jade Barbosa is back in Gávea. The gymnast, a Flamengo athlete since she was five, signed a contract with the club on Wednesday afternoon (July 24.07) and returns "home" in peak physical condition and seeking great results, both for Flamengo and the Brazilian National Team. Upon her return to the team, now 23, she will assume a leading role for young talent on the Flamengo team, which makes up almost 90% of the national team.
"The girls miss having an older athlete. I'm even feeling more mature. Besides, when I left, the girls were young. They've changed a lot, but we're having a really good exchange, and I'm sure it will bring good results. I'm finding this whole moment very special," said the gymnast.
Jade's return represents more than just a boost for Flamengo's Olympic sports. It's another milestone in the restructuring of the Mais Querido's Olympic sports. With established athletes and the reopening of the Cláudio Coutinho Gymnasium, as well as the upcoming renovation of some areas of Gávea, which will be carried out by the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), Flamengo is establishing itself as one of the largest promoters of athletes who can bring medals to Brazil. "Today, we have a self-sustaining gymnastics program, we're once again training new athletes, and we've moved beyond the obsolescence of Olympic sports, which are severely underserved in Brazil. We have a lot of work ahead of us to get everything working, and little by little, we will further improve all teams. Furthermore, we have the support of those who understand sports, such as Marcelo Vido (Director of Olympic Sports) and Luísa Parente (Artistic Gymnastics Manager)," said Alexandre Póvoa, Flamengo's Vice President of Olympic Sports.
Now, Jade Barbosa will face her next challenges officially wearing the Sacred Mantle. Unable to contain her excitement, the red-and-black star couldn't hide her joy at her return. "The next competition is the Brazilian Championship, and I really wanted to compete wearing the Flamengo jersey. I'm glad everything worked out. It's great to be back home," said Jade.
The athlete, who returns to training with the red-and-black team in Três Rios, will continue preparing for upcoming competitions alongside her childhood coach, Ricardo Pereira. The gymnast thanked the Biggest Fan Base in the World for their tremendous support. "Ricardo and I are very motivated to get back to training together every day. I'm already preparing a new series for the Brazilian Championships and I'm very confident. I'd like to thank the fans for the unwavering support they've given me," concluded Jade.
