Having been Flamengo's artistic swimming coach for 21 years and winning numerous titles during that time, Roberta Perillier has recently been promoted to artistic sports manager at the club. The Flamengo fan will be responsible for integrating swimming and artistic gymnastics at the club, as well as overseeing the transition and development of athletes from youth to professional level.

At Mengão since 1998, Beta commented on this new challenge in her career and says she is very happy and prepared for the opportunity.

"It's been a huge challenge for me. It was Flamengo's innovative idea to try to group the club's artistic sports, just as the International Olympic Committee itself had already done. In fact, the nomenclature (from synchronized to artistic swimming) was changed for this reason, aiming to align with the other artistic sports. My idea is to seek coordination along similar lines to those defined by the IOC for the sport, where we already have some similarities between the two sports. So, we always want to develop what we call the artistic side between the two sports," said the new Flamengo manager, who continued.

"Ultimately, this challenge is a great gift, as we have a strong tradition in both swimming and artistic gymnastics, with athletes from the club constantly serving the Brazilian National Teams, both at the youth and professional levels. Izabel Miranda and Marcelo Vido were the main supporters of this new project, and I hope to repay them accordingly. I will work hard to achieve this," he concluded.


The artistic gymnastics teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Committee of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
