Rubro-negros train with the national team in Três Rios
Brazil will participate in the International Meeting in Santos
By Communication - Official Club Website - inEight Flamengo athletes are participating in training with the national team in Três Rios for evaluation ahead of the International Men's and Women's Meeting, which will take place next weekend, from April 15th to 21st, in Santos, São Paulo. In addition to the girls, the club also has three coaches overseeing the training sessions: Ricardo Pereira, Francisco Porath, and Keli Kitaura.
In addition to the Meeting, the gymnasts are preparing for the Brazil Trophy, registration for which opens next Monday (April 14.04). International referee Mônica Barroso dos Anjos believes the girls performed well, but they should train to increase the difficulty. "Series with more difficult elements lead to higher scores and improve the final result. Furthermore, they must pay special attention to their artistic presentation, which will be a highly regarded aspect of this Olympic cycle," she said.
Letícia Costa, a Flamengo athlete, also analyzed her performance. "It was a good workout, but there's still room for improvement. I did well on the beam and floor, and the vault, which is my best apparatus, is undergoing technical adjustments at the start," she said.
The complete team of gymnasts from the club in Três Rios with the Russian coach of the Brazilian team, Alexander Alexandrov, is made up of Rebeca Andrade, Milena Theodoro, Lorenna Antunes, Isabelle Cristina Retamiro, Letícia Costa, Maria Cecilia de Oliveira Cruz, Julie Kim Sinmon and Ana Júlia Reis.
