Flamengo shone in the Doha leg of the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup. On Thursday morning (March 31.03), Flamengo gymnast Daniele Hypolito, the sole representative of the Brazilian women's team, won the gold medal on vault. In the men's event, Sergio Sasaki, who was celebrating his birthday on the day (20 years old), took silver on floor. With 14.550, he was behind only China's Zou Kai, the current Olympic champion, with 15.250.
Danielle confirmed her favoritism on vault, having finished first in the qualifying rounds. She will also attempt a medal on floor exercise. On this apparatus, the red-and-black athlete secured a spot on the podium with third place (13.350).
"I'm super happy with this medal. It's an important year because we have important competitions like the Pan American Games and the World Championships, and being in good physical shape in a year like this gives you the strength to seek qualification for another Olympics. Competitions like this are, without a doubt, a great test and show that you're on the right path," said Danielle.
