After winning the trophy with the women's team and featuring athlete Jade Barbosa, elected the best gymnast in the individual all-around, with 55,3 points, Flamengo also had another great athlete in the spotlight at the Brazilian Artistic Gymnastics Championship, in the men's team competition: Sergio Sasaki.

The Flamengo gymnast was one of the highlights of the London Olympic Games and also did well in this year's Brazilian Championships, held in Goiânia, between August 30 and September 2. Sasaki was the best on the parallel bars (14.900), on the fixed bar (15.050), on the vault (16.150) and also took bronze on the floor (14.700).
