With a confident performance on the floor, Diego Hypólito took first place in the qualifying round of the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Glasgow, Scotland, this Friday. The current two-time world champion earned a score of 15,675 points. Eleftherios Kosmidis of Greece finished second with 15,650, followed by Alexander Shatilov of Israel with 15,375 points.

"I simplified the series on the third pass, but I perfectly executed the double twist on the last pass, a move I had a slip on at the Olympics and which took me out of medal contention. In the final, I'll do the full Olympic series," said Diego, who also secured a spot in the vault final. The Brazilian gymnast finished sixth with 15,787 points.

The eight finalists per apparatus will compete in the finals this Saturday. After competing in this stage, the red-and-black team's next challenge will be in Stuttgart, Germany, next month, from November 14th to 16th. In December, it will be Diego's turn to close out the year competing in the World Cup Grand Final in Spain.
