Even without being able to count on the determination and performance of the red-and-blacks Diego Hypolito and Victor Rosa, who were recovering from their respective injuries, the Brazilian men's artistic gymnastics team secured participation in the 2011 Pan American Games by finishing second in the Pre-Pan Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.

The Brazilian team scored 343.950 points and tied with the Canadians in the total of all six apparatuses (floor, vault, horse, rings, parallel bar, and horizontal bar). The United States took gold.

The women's team, made up of six gymnasts, including Flamengo athletes Daniele Hypolito and Gabriela Soares, will also attempt to qualify for the 2011 Games, which will be held in the same city – Guadalajara, Mexico. The women's competition begins this Friday.

Daniele, the most experienced of the group, has already pointed out that Brazil's main competitors in this competition will be the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
