The gymnasts who make up the Brazilian Artistic Gymnastics Team will be gathered, starting this Wednesday (July 21st), for a 10-day training period at the Claudio Coutinho Gymnasium, at Flamengo's headquarters. In addition to the 10 selected, four of whom are from Flamengo, four other gymnasts were invited to participate in the training, which aims to prepare for the Adult Pan American Championships, in August, which will serve as a qualifier for the 2011 Pan American Games in Gualadajara. Among the invited athletes are Jade Barbosa and Gabriela Soares.

Regardless of the result that is expected to come out this Wednesday, after a meeting of the medical board that is evaluating Jade's case, the red-black team will train normally, since the training sessions will be at the Gávea headquarters.

The coaching staff will be led by Iryna Ilyashenko, Roger Medina, Adriana Alves, and two Flamengo coaches, Ricardo Pereira and Viviane Cardoso. Ricardo, who has coached the Brazilian national team for 16 years, believes this internship will be very productive.

\

"As they are in competition rhythm, they will have a much more relaxed training," said Pereira.

The athletes are scheduled to arrive this Wednesday morning. The first training session will take place in the afternoon.
