With the Pre-Pan Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, concluded last weekend, gymnast Daniele Hypolito, who returns to Brazil this Tuesday (07.09), achieved a positive leap in her participation in the competition. A veteran of the Brazilian women's delegation, the Flamengo athlete helped Brazil secure a spot in the 2011 Pan American Games by totaling 212.994 points on the six apparatuses.

The Brazilian women's best performance was on vault, where they scored 57.633. The women's team also scored 53.765 on uneven bars, 52.466 on floor exercise, and 49.198 on balance beam. The United States took first place as a team, scoring 232.030. Silver went to Canada, which scored 213.463.

Daniele reached the podium twice (team and vault) and finished ninth in the individual all-around with 53.798 (13.633 on floor, 14.416 on vault, 13.666 on parallel bars, and 12.066 on beam). The red-and-black athlete won the bronze medal in the team competition last Friday and a silver medal on vault on Saturday. The "Little Notable" athlete also finished fifth on the parallel bars.

"We achieved our goal, which was to qualify for the 2011 Pan American Games in Mexico. From now on, our thoughts will be on the World Championships in October in the Netherlands. This competition will bring together the best teams and gymnasts in the world, and to achieve a good result, we will need to train hard," said Daniele.
