Brazil wins another silver medal in artistic gymnastics

The men won the team silver medal on Saturday afternoon, the first day of competition at the 2007th Pan American Games Rio-XNUMX. In the early evening, it was the Brazilian girls' turn to shine at the Multipurpose Arena, in the Autódromo Complex.

The Brazilian women's artistic gymnastics team won an unprecedented team silver medal with a total of 236.725, finishing behind the United States, which took the Pan American gold medal. Mexico took bronze with 223.625. In the 2003 Santo Domingo Games, the Brazilians won the bronze medal.

Jade Barbosa was the star of the team. The gymnast, a member of the CRFlamengo federation, secured first place in the balance beam, floor exercise, and vault events, achieving the highest scores among Brazilians: 1, 15.175, and 15.325, respectively.

With the results obtained, Jade secured 2nd place in the individual all-around.
