The great day has come!

The XV Pan American Games Rio-2007 begin.

The official opening is scheduled for this Friday, July 13, at 17:30 p.m., with a grand celebration at the Maracanã Stadium. Forty-two sports will be in action during the XV Pan American Games Rio-2007.

Dreams, determination, achievements, excitement, and a lot of sweat. All eyes will be on the 16 days of competition involving the top teams from the Americas.

Composed of 659 athletes, the Brazilian delegation reached its record number of participants at the Pan American Games. In Santo Domingo 2003, the last edition of the Games, the Brazilian delegation consisted of 479 athletes, the largest to date.

Clube de Regatas do Flamengo will be closely monitoring the participation of the 20 red-and-black teams that qualified for the biggest sporting event in the Americas.
