Artistic Gymnastics is the first Brazilian sport to enter the Pan American Village Rio-2007

The 12 artistic gymnastics athletes will be the first Brazilian delegation members to enter the Pan American Village this Wednesday, the 4th, at approximately 11 a.m. Brazilian Olympic Committee press officers will escort the athletes to the International Zone, where they will meet the press. In addition to the gymnastics team, the diving team will also enter the Village on the evening of the 4th. The baseball, soccer, field hockey, and rowing teams will also enter the Village on the 5th.

Brazil will be housed in buildings 15 (Santo Domingo), 16 (Cali), and 17 (Caracas), occupying 100 apartments, 400 rooms, and 800 beds in the Village. The Brazilian Delegation to the XV Pan American Games Rio 2007 will consist of 659 athletes, 373 men and 286 women, in addition to 297 officials, including 60 medical staff and 15 horse grooms, totaling 956 members. This is the largest Brazilian delegation in Brazilian sporting history. Previously, the largest number was at the Santo Domingo 2003 Pan American Games, when the delegation consisted of 721 members, including 479 athletes.
