Once again, CRFlamengo judoka Karla Cardoso showed grit and courage by defeating her main opponents on the mats.

The judoka, representing the up to 48kg weight category, defeated an American, a Brazilian and a Cuban to become champion of the B-3 category (athletes with low vision).

It was the first gold medal for Brazilian judo at the Rio-2007 Parapan American Games. Recently, Karla won the silver medal at the III World Blind Games, held in São Paulo.
