Once again, the United States and Canada came out on top. On Thursday morning (July 26th), at Maria Lenk Aquatic Park, the Brazilian team performed in the technical routine and scored 07 points. The final decision will be made on Saturday, after the free routine performances.
On this occasion, Brazil will take to the stage dressed in the famous waves of the Copacabana boardwalk, to the sound of “Samba do Avião”, “Assanhado”, “Cidade Maravilhosa” and “País Tropical”.
According to Roberta Périllier, coach of the Brazilian national team and Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, Brazil has a good chance of securing medals. "Our strength is our technical routine. Our lifts (acrobatics) are very good, and the athletes are excellent at executing them," the Brazilian coach assured.
Friday will be all about frevo at Maria Lenk. The duo, formed by Caroline Hildebrandt and Lara Teixeira, with an extra boost from choreographer Carlinhos de Jesus, will perform to the centennial song "Vassourinhas." The duet finale will begin at 10 a.m.
