GAME REPORT FLAMENGO x BOTAFOGO\ Maracanã – 24/02/08 – 16:00 h\ Report nº 09/08\
1) TICKET SALES
To reduce crowds and facilitate the experience for fans, we suggest placing signs above operating ticket booths, indicating the type of ticket sold and its price. The problems with ticket sales have been widely reported in the media. Reports without concrete evidence are evasive. In order to pursue any complaint, we must identify and prove the accused's actions. We rely on fans' help to prevent any practices that are harmful to themselves and the club. We once again remind fans to avoid buying tickets from scalpers to avoid embarrassment. Currently, the ticket sales process is computerized. Therefore, our professionals know the card's origin by the card's identification number.
2) PUBLIC ACCESS TO THE STADIUM
Access to the stadium was smooth, without any disturbances. Despite the large crowds, fans of both teams behaved peacefully.
3) STADIUM ENTRANCE
The entrance through UERJ presented no major problems. Due to the smaller number of Botafogo fans, the entrance was less chaotic until the arrival of an organized group of fans, which caused considerable confusion for a few minutes at the turnstiles, requiring police intervention. At the entrance to the Bellini statue, the situation was the opposite. From 14:30 p.m. onward, a huge line formed to enter and a major disturbance occurred near the turnstiles. According to the staff, four turnstiles on the left side were not working, forcing fans to jump over them and hand over their tickets to the staff. This caused chaos and distrust among fans, who sent us several complaints. We ask fans to always demand their tickets back whenever this happens, having them properly punctured or torn. In classics like this, it's been proven that Flamengo fans come in much larger numbers and that a single access ramp is insufficient, especially when several turnstiles break right at the main entrance. We remind fans that, to avoid disturbances at games with this kind of appeal, they should arrive at least two hours in advance.
4) PUBLIC
The audience was 78.830 paying and 84.185 in attendance. Revenue was R$1.684.225,00.

JECRIM - There were 9 incidents, including 3 for contempt, 3 for scalping, 1 for inciting a riot, 1 for theft, and 1 for robbery. In the latter two incidents, the accused were taken to the 18th Precinct. We warn fans that using drugs in the stadium is punishable by detention at the JECRIM, subject to a heavy fine! We also want to remind fans that they are responsible for acts that cause damage to property, such as intentionally breaking seats and placing themselves in positions that could cause damage, such as climbing on the stadium partitions. These acts are subject to detention and summary judgment by the JECRIM. Insisting on standing on the blue seats, as well as climbing on the seats in this section, causing harm to the fan behind, even with a warning from an authority, is considered contempt and is also subject to detention and summary judgment.
Medical Department - There were 95 cases, including 3 removals. The most common cases were sutures, bruises, and alcoholism.
SUDERJ - Damaged seats – 18 yellow seats on the Flamengo side, 63 yellow seats on the Botafogo side, and 40 white seats. We're asking for help from the organized fan groups located in the yellow section to inform fans about the consequences of this act, which is being monitored by cameras. Any fan caught vandalizing stadium property will be detained and subject to summary trial. Fans from organized fan groups may be punished. The restrooms couldn't handle the large number of fans. During halftime, it was impossible to enter them due to the sheer volume of people. The women's restroom, near the grandstand, was without power half an hour before kickoff.
5) ORGANIZED FANS
There were no clashes between fans inside the stadium. Flamengo fans, the atmosphere was one of camaraderie and joy. We would like to take this opportunity to highlight and congratulate the initiative of the Torcida Jovem do Flamengo leadership, which distributed flyers urging fans to maintain a peaceful and orderly attitude. Such actions help to break the negative image of this traditional fan base. The club and GEASE-Fla consider these initiatives positive for the image of the show and the Flamengo brand. By understanding that they are part of the show and creating actions that add value, the fans enhance it and enable the partnership between the club and these entities.
6) MAIN OCCURRENCES
It became clear that the Maracanã stadium could no longer comfortably accommodate 84.000 fans. The Flamengo fans' side, which extended to the white seats, was overcrowded. Even in the white seats, fans watched standing. In the Raça stadium, fans fell from the upper seats, causing a domino effect that sent several fans to the medical department with bruises and cuts. Fortunately, none were serious. This is the risk of watching the game standing, without comfort or safety. The possibility of a more serious accident is high! At the end of the game, some fans, in an inexplicable act, broke the windows of the ambulance near the Medical Department. The fans justified their actions by saying that the vehicle's red color reminded them of Flamengo's colors, which they considered provocative. Unfortunately, the actions of professionals and officials, who wield significant influence and shape opinions in environments like football, ultimately lead to thoughtless and senseless acts like this. In the special seats, a fan lit a flare and was immediately reprimanded by a police officer. We also observed numerous people carrying expired badges, as well as guests of ACERJ, including dozens of children and teenagers. We take this opportunity to congratulate the SUDERJ employees, who, with great effort and despite the actions of unprepared and ill-intentioned officials, managed to prevent an uncontrolled invasion of the press area by outsiders, collecting dozens of invalid badges.
7) PARKING
We would like to remind fans once again that anyone who parks on the sidewalks of the stadium's side streets runs a significant risk of having their car towed. The parking attendants, upon seeing the tow trucks, disappear unpunished. Be careful! The UERJ parking lot is a good option, but fans should arrive early. Other options include General Canabarro Street and side streets, the Extras parking lot on Mariz e Barros Street and Maracanã Avenue, and the underground parking lot of the Administrative Center (Piranhão). Many fans, even though they were informed that parking on Radial Oeste was not permitted, chose to trust the parking attendants. All these cars were towed and taken to the Municipal Depot.
8) TRAFFIC IN THE SURROUNDING AREA
Traffic was very slow both before and after the match. São Francisco Xavier Street was slow from early on. Those coming from Praça da Bandeira and climbing the Oduwaldo Cozzi overpass took over an hour to reach Professor Eurico Rabelo. We recommend that fans use public transportation, especially the subway, on days with high-profile matches.
9) GEASE ACTIONS
GEASE-Fla, like all organizations providing fan services in stadiums, relies on the collaboration of all authorities representing sports clubs and official bodies to create a professional and civilized culture within these stadiums, through actions that align with the requirements of the Fan Statute and the rules of good conduct among citizens. The environment being created between the agencies responsible for stadium security and well-being and the organized fan groups, and consequently, the fans themselves, is one of respect and responsibility. Violating these principles will result in severe sanctions. Therefore, opinion makers and leaders bear the great responsibility for creating the right environment for this change, so desired by all.
