Considered the elite of the red-black rowing, José Carlos Sobral Júnior and Thiago Gomes, who make up the Double Skiff boat of the Brazilian rowing team, secured 2nd place in the preliminary phase, held on the morning of this Saturday (14/07), in Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas.

With a time of 6:38:66, the Brazilians overcame the Chilean team and finished behind the United States team, which won the event with a time of 6:33:09. With this result, Thiago and Sobral secured their place in the repechage, which took place in the afternoon.

Brazilians José Sobral Júnior and Thiago Gomes qualified for the final by winning the repechage, with 6'46"44.
