Last Saturday (1), Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, on the initiative of its Social Responsibility department, held another edition of “Nação no Maraca”, which took 300 people to watch Mengão's 2-0 victory over Fortaleza, in the 13th round of the Brazilian Championship.

In total, seven institutions that work with socially vulnerable people were represented in the match, namely: Gaia Project (São Gonçalo), Machado de Assis Social Assistance Reference Center (Colônia Juliano Moreira / Jacarepaguá), Ser Cidadão Project (Santa Cruz), Gol de Letras Foundation (Caju), Camarista em Ação Social Project (Méier)/ Nacional Sport (Urucânia)/ Instituto Time Leão (Duque de Caxias).

"This is the first time our group, from Complexo do Salgueiro, São Gonçalo, the former Itaoca landfill, has come to Maracanã. It's incredibly moving to see the children's faces, how happy they are, and how they're making dreams come true. When we told them we were coming to Maracanã, they started jumping for joy! So it's very special to be here with them, knowing that we're making dreams come true, creating emotional memories, and at the invitation of their team. If it weren't for this opportunity, they wouldn't be able to be here because they're in a time of great social and economic vulnerability," said Laura Torres, director of Espaço Gaia.

The representative of the “Being a Citizen” project, Luciano Paulo dos Santos, also described his experience at Maraca:

"Being here is a unique experience that will leave a lasting impression. It's our first time here, and it's a mix of feelings: joy, anxiety, happiness... I got goosebumps with every goal, every cheer from the fans. Thank you to Flamengo for this opportunity to offer our young people the chance to be here, participating in this beautiful and wonderful celebration that is the Flamengo team, the Red-Black Nation."
