In partnership with the Choir of the Pastoral do Povo de Rua and the Associação Beneficente São Martinho, the “Nação no Maraca” action, from the CRF’s Social Responsibility, took a group of 30 people, 20 of whom were homeless, to Maracanã, to watch Flamengo’s match against Ceará, last Sunday (4).
"It's moving to see so many displays of joy from these men and women. One of our attendees told me, 'How wonderful it is to feel included!' So I'm very moved to be able to help transform these people's lives. They will certainly never forget this day in their hearts and minds," said Deacon Valdinei Martins, Coordinator of Social Outreach at São Martinho, who was at the game with the group.
"It's an emotion that cannot be measured. With this initiative, we help rebuild family and community ties that often fall apart for reasons unknown to us. Flamengo deserves congratulations, and I hope that more and more people benefit from these initiatives. It may seem small to some, but it's a lot for those who often go unseen," he added.
The “Nação no Maraca” initiative is part of the Social Responsibility department's social inclusion work, which aims to enable the integration of socially vulnerable groups, providing more democratic and diverse spaces.
