On another day of the 'Nação Solidária' campaign, in partnership with SOS Favela/Viva Rio, Flamengo distributed basic food baskets and alcohol gel this Friday (26) in Morro do Salgueiro, located in the North Zone of Rio. The action was supported by the social project 'Education Through Sport', responsible for accrediting local residents who are experiencing difficulties due to the covid-19 pandemic.
In total, 150 units of hand sanitizer and 120 food baskets were delivered to the community. It's worth noting that the "Education Through Sport" project, led by Marcos Lelelo, aims to benefit local children with soccer lessons and uses sport as a tool for social transformation.
"Flamengo is already a great partner in this social project. Since the club created the Social Responsibility department, we've been able to take children to Maracanã, something that was previously almost impossible. Seeing their joy upon entering the stadium is rewarding. Now, with the delivery of food baskets and hand sanitizer, we are very grateful to Flamengo and the people involved in this initiative," said Lelelo.
It's always worth remembering that Flamengo's hand sanitizer units are produced in partnership with LBBio (Brazilian Biology Laboratory). Mais Querido's Social Responsibility Manager, Camila Nascimento, oversaw the delivery of the supplies to the community.
