Social Responsibility and Flamengo Museum reading action arrives at Mata Verde Bonita village
The "Come read, come read, come read!" project brought the Libertadores Cup and a lot of history and inspiration to the indigenous children of the region.

On the 19th, we celebrated Indigenous Peoples' Day, and the project "Come read, come read, come read!", a partnership between Flamengo's Social Responsibility department and the Flamengo Museum's Education Department, went to the Mata Verde Bonita village in Maricá, Rio de Janeiro, home to the Guarani Mbya ethnic group, bringing history and inspiration to the region's children. During the event, everyone received books, backpacks, and cups from the club.
"Reading is fundamental in everyone's lives, and since the entire village is red-and-black, having Flamengo here, with this encouragement of education and reading, plays an even more important role because we already have a school library and a reading circle... So, you reinforce our work in a very positive way," said Amanda Pouchain, teacher and counselor for the children of the Mata Verde Bonita village. "Thank you for this visit, this contact... all of this shows that the team we support is the same team that strengthens our children's reading. Our children were very happy today. It's very important to connect with the world. It's great that Flamengo has an initiative like this, focused on children," added Village Leader Tupã.
As support for the project "Come read, come read, come read!", which aims to connect children with books, expanding horizons and stimulating imagination, the Historical Heritage Department also brought some model oars to the village to showcase the evolution of the club's founding sport over time, as well as the Copa Libertadores da América trophy. The exhibition provided emotional moments for all in attendance.
"I'm a Flamengo fan, my father was, my mother is, and the village is 100% Flamengo. Today is a blessed day. Thank you to Flamengo for your presence in the lives of the indigenous people of the Mata Verde Bonita village. Thank you for this wonderful day!" added Leader Tupã.
During the event, the children and young people present suggested names for Flamengo's boat, which traditionally uses indigenous names, reinforcing the club's commitment to national values and symbols.
