By Red-Black Guardian Angel - inAnjo da Guarda Rubro-Negro remains the largest sports fundraising program for individuals in Brazil. With over 34% growth over 2020—and 253% in four years—the project saw a 30% increase in donors and spent the R$3,8 million raised on Olympic sports—and now also women's soccer, which is now included among the supported sports and is experiencing significant growth within the club.
Today, Flamengo collects approximately 50% of everything raised this way in Brazil and has surpassed the mark of one thousand donors, which attests to the program's credibility.
About the Red-Black Guardian Angel
One of the biggest successes of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, the Anjo da Guarda Rubro-Negro (Red-Black Guardian Angel) concluded another edition with a record-breaking fundraising record. Through this program, any individual can invest in the club's Olympic and Paralympic sports, deducting up to 6% of their income tax due and allocating the proceeds to the training of new athletes and citizens—a fully refunded amount to the participant.
The Red-Black Guardian Angel is a transformative force in Brazil, ensuring the development of hundreds of Olympic athletes, with internationally recognized transparency. Among the project's various investments, the funds raised go toward scholarships, equipment, maintenance of sports facilities, and the Unified Center for Identification and Development of Performance Athletes (CUIDAR). The center provides the only access to prevention and checkups—through medical, psychological, physical therapy, nutritional, and massage therapy—for the more than 60% of athletes who lack health insurance and the more than 40% of the red-blacks' youth teams who come from vulnerable and at-risk areas.
Those who participate in the campaign receive benefits, such as fan membership plans, official shirts, visits to the football training center, tickets to Maracanã and other red-and-black gifts, in addition to a certificate of participation.
