Excitement, joy, and a sense of accomplishment permeated the online graduation ceremony for FURNAS' second Volunteer Mentoring class. Sixteen young athletes from Flamengo, including polo, swimming, and artistic swimming, benefiting from the Eletrobras Companies' Social and Sports Sponsorship Program, completed the project.

The professional mentoring initiative was launched in March of this year and included three online sessions and two workshops to inspire and convey fundamental values ​​and concepts to the mentees, helping the girls become more confident.  

Graduate Julia Bouças, an artistic swimmer, says the experience was very positive. "I want to thank the entire team that provided this mentoring. My mentor, Fabiana Toledo, was perfect. She made me feel comfortable in every session. She was a huge help to me," said the young woman, who is a high-performance athlete in artistic swimming for Flamengo. 

Mariana Mandarino, head of the FURNAS Volunteer Program, was moved during the graduation ceremony. "Seeing this room filled with representatives from so many companies is very special. I want to thank you for the partnership, the companies, and all the volunteers. After all, volunteering is believing that this world can be a better place, doing something to make that happen, and that's what each of you did. Congratulations and thank you very much," she celebrated. 

The initiative is part of the FURNAS Volunteer Program, in partnership with the Human Resources Consultancy, and includes professional guidance from employees of companies and institutions participating in the Permanent Committee for Gender, Race and Diversity Issues of the Ministry of Mines and Energy and Related Entities, who acted as mentors to the young women.
