In an initiative promoted by Mais Querido's Social Responsibility department, athletes Lorena Molinos, from artistic swimming, and Maria Eduarda Diniz and Maria Eduarda Silva, from judo, visited the Clementino Fraga Filho University Hospital (HUCFF) on the morning of Tuesday, October 04th. This visit was part of the Pink October program, which aims to raise awareness about the importance of self-examination and early diagnosis in the fight against breast and cervical cancer. Also present at the visit were mascots Urubão and Binho, who interacted and took photos with chemotherapy patients and healthcare professionals, bringing a touch of lightness and hope to the hospital environment. Ângela Machado, Flamengo's Director of Social Responsibility, explained the purpose of the visit:

"The idea is to provide strength and support to cancer patients during this challenging time of treatment, when self-esteem tends to be low and energy levels are low. The athletes' presence conveys a message of resilience, strength, and positivity. And for us, this fight for life, so deeply felt by patients and their families, is always a valuable learning experience." 

The visit also extended to the Martagão Gesteira Institute of Childcare and Pediatrics (IPPMG), where the athletes were able to tour the ward for children undergoing treatment for leukemia, lymphoma, and other serious illnesses. During the visit, the club donated a jersey autographed by the soccer players, which will be auctioned off with the proceeds going toward improvements at the school located within the hospital unit, which serves children who spend a lot of time in the hospital and cannot afford to miss out on their education. Alexandre de Almeida Vilarinho, Coordinator of the IPPMG Humanization Center, spoke about the importance of Flamengo's visit for hospitalized children:

"This action by Flamengo brings a little joy, a little smile, a little welcome to our children who live a very difficult day-to-day life, full of pain, away from their homes and families. When a team of athletes and characters arrives, distributing gifts, bringing smiles, and bringing a little faith, it's very important because it relieves them of this painful experience. Mothers and children also benefit from this, as do healthcare professionals themselves, who also escape the routine of constantly dealing with death and pain. Your visit changes this atmosphere of pain and sadness and transforms it into one of joy, hope, and laughter."
